Love Is All You Need

For the Love Is All You Need  collection I made a series of large abstract canvases and wanted to place them in an environment or building so that both the building and the paintings together formed the work.

My aim was to create a still environment that allowed or initiated contemplation.

I found a beautiful, empty, heritage listed space that was available for use.

The space had two large rooms with natural light and dark polished wooden floorboards.

I placed the paintings very spaciously in the rooms so that they almost floated in the large cavernous space.

I just propped the paintings against the wall – leaving them on the floor.

The reflections that the paintings made into the floor were beautiful and added to the sense of depth in the work and in the whole space.
